ALBERTA RESTAURANT AND FOODSERVICES ASSOCIATION NOTICE TO MEMBERS This is to advise you that the Alberta Restaurant and Foodservices Association (ARFA) has ceased operations as of February 9, 2007. The closure of our operations reflects our members’ unanimous resolution, on November 17, 2006, to transfer ARFA’s membership programs, assets and memberships to the Alberta Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA). The November resolution was made in light of AHLA’s stated interest to merge with ARFA by the end of 2006. A condition of this merger was that AHLA would create a special membership category for restaurant operators. ARFA’s board of directors has long recognized the need for Alberta’s hospitality industry to speak with a united voice. To achieve this goal, ARFA launched merger-related discussions with AHLA in April 2006. Our purpose was to provide our members with a strong, unified organization that could advocate on behalf of the food services, accommodations and tourism industries |
